Magical Miniatures

If you love all things magical and miniature you are in the right place.

About me and my blog

I am a mother of three and work on a market stall. In my free time I love to make magical miniatures. It all started with my gran who spent hours when I was a child teaching me how to make do. This entailed mending and fixing and making things from scratch. My dolls house consisted of cardboard boxes with windows cut out, beautifully decorated and all furniture hand made. We sat for hours making clothes and accessories for my dolls to the envy of my friends that all had the same generic stuff. So thanks gran for the inspiration. I hope you enjoy my art and my blog. Thanks for visiting.

Bricks are on!

Yay, finally the bricks are on and sealed. Just the grouting to look forward too!

1.12 scale Gothic bed

For a while I have envisioned a 1.12  scale Gothic bed that i'd like to make. So using the head board and foot board from a broken bed I made templates then cut from balsa wood and covered in fabric after stuffing with cotton wool.
I made four posts from card then covered also in fabric. At the bottom I used balls that need to be painted black and resin skulls to top them off.
Once attached to the sides I left to dry properly. Loads more to do but thought you may like a sneak peak.

Witchcraft Manor, another small step

Full of excitement about the creating of Witchcraft manor I have begun to add the bricks to the main front of the house. Not as easy as I had expected, so after a few re arrangements I decided I was happy with the look they were glued into place. I still need to cut the rest of the bricks to fit and grout the lot. But it is starting to take shape!

Witchcraft Manor

A few of you may remember that about a year ago I bought a doll  house from ebay with the intention of renovating it.
Well after dismantling it it has remained in a bag waiting for me to get around to it's restoration, witch I now have.
After some serious filling and sanding I blasted over the wood with pva glue mixed with water as a sealant then under coated the whole front in gray. I have some stone bricks to set over the top and grout to set them in.
The window frames and door frame I painted green with a gentle mottle to add a little depth.
The insides of the windows I painted dark gray. I will be adding glass to the windows at a later date.
I have been looking around for some dried moss to add between the bricks but the spring green I want is sold out on ebay and i'm not sure where else to look!
Using wire, ivy leafs and flower tape I created an ivy to grow around the doorway. So much to do but at least this is the start of the house I named Witchcraft Manor.
